The two-day Performance Golf Schools combine
intensive instruction,
assisted practice and actual play on the golf course.
During the first day, you'll concentrate on learning correct swing
fundamentals. While most golf basics apply to everyone, our instruction
is geared to your individual needs and your ability level. Also
on day one, you'll learn the secrets of the short gamechipping,
pitching and putting. This is really the key to rapidly lowering
your scores. During the afternoon you will be playing nine holes
with instructors available to provide advice as needed.
On day two, we will focus on raising your confidence with swing
changes, paying special attention to your unique problems and difficulties.
We'll be teaching you techniques of sand bunker play and specialty
shots, such as downhill lies. During a special mini-clinic with
Dr. Blanchard you'll also learn the
basics of good course management, how to handle nerves and pressure,
the secrets to becoming a mentally tough golfer, and how to make
your practice truly effective. This feature of the golf school has
been particularly helpful for junior golfers, competitive players
and coaches.
In the afternoon you'll be playing nine holes, again, with instructors
available.
During a final wrap-up session we present awards and prizes for
various competitions and special categories (e.g. most improved
golfer). As a golf-school participant, you are awarded a certificate
of achievement to commemorate your effort and experience.
At Performance Golf Schools our
goal is for you to do more than improve your golf swing and lower
your scores. We want you to really learn the game of golf. That's
why we emphasize your total approach to the game, from developing
a solid full swing, to the short game and the mental side. Instruction
and learning are accelerated to optimize the time you have to devote
to improving your golf performance and enjoyment. We help you take
your game from the practice range to the golf course, and provide
on-course instruction under actual playing conditions. We especially
appreciate the needs of novice golfers, women golfers and junior
golfers; we encourage your participation. We know that learning
the game can be difficult, and we do everything we can to help you
feel comfortable and not intimidated by formal instruction We avoid
golf jargon, canned methods, superficial fixes, and gimmicks.
Each golfer is an individual, with his or her own unique physical
characteristics, temperament, attitudes, background, aspirations
and problems. We appreciate that, and accommodate our teaching to
each person, in terms of applying basic fundamentals and principles
to your particular needs and ability level. Since golf is an activity
that demands mental concentration, thinking and emotional control,
we provide you with fundamentals of sports psychology as applied
to the game of golf. At Performance Golf
Schools we maintain a low teacher-student ratio so that you
are not lost in a crowd.
